Hi, I’m Phoenix!

I find delight in many things, but I especially love marketing. In addition to my ‘day job’ leading a marketing team for a multi-million dollar ed-tech company, I am passionately committed to helping corporate marketing teams develop & execute strategic marketing campaigns that delight their target audiences.

I am also driven by an unwavering commitment to creating space, opportunity, and support in tech for people from under-represented groups, and believe that the explosive growth of generative AI capabilities makes addressing gaps in inclusion and belonging in the tech industry even more urgent.

My approach to marketing is a blend of art and science. I firmly believe that though there’s science behind the magic, it doesn’t make it any less enchanting!

Over a 15 year career in educational technology, Phoenix continues to be a go-to for launching ed tech products and leading high performing cross-functional marketing teams. Her product marketing expertise has been honed by synthesizing user analytics and market insights gathered through meetings with thousands of college instructors at more than 250 college campuses in the United States to better understand how educational technology can best improve learner engagement and outcomes.

Melding a social science background with data analytic skills (University of Southern California,  Masters in Accounting), Phoenix obtained a Doctorate of Education, Educational Technology from the University of Florida and has committed her professional and academic endeavors to identifying ways in which educational technology can be better designed to attract and retain students, particularly in college-level STEM studies.

A passionate marketer, Phoenix is obsessed with understanding how generative AI can, will, should, (and maybe should not) change how marketing is done.
